Volleyball Tour for Italy - Treviso
It's the first time for me to go to Treviso. Last year, my friend and I went to Modena to see the game of Casa Modena Unibon that "Nacho" Cuminetti played. This time of course we went to Modena to see Cuminetti. After visiting Modena we went to Treviso (22 Feb.) in order to see the game of Sisley Treviso that Marcos Milinkovic plays (I presume every Argentine fan knows). The game was not a regular Serie A1 match. It was a game of Coppa dei Campioni. Sisley Treviso played against Konkordia Nafels (Swiss team).
At the Modena station we met Carlos Getzelevich, Argentine national team head coach, and we took the same train to Treviso. He told me some information about the Seleccion and Argentine players. It was a good chance for me to talk with Carlos because I didn't have a chance to talk with him while Argentine national team was in Japan last November for the World Cup.
After we arrived at Treviso, we went to Sisley Treviso's office and asked about the training schedule. The training would last from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Of course, we went to see the training. Here are the training photos.
After the practice, we met Marcos and talked a little. Marcos told us that Cuminetti telephoned him and told that we visited Modena and we were on the way to Treviso. What a connection they have! Surprise, surprise!
February 23 - Game day
The game started at 8:30 p.m. Starting members for
Sisley Treviso were Marcos, Gravina, Papi, Bernardi, N. Grivic, and Formin.
Wow, what a excellent line-up!
Marcos served the first and second serve, then he changed with Libero. The
opponent team was actualy much lower level team for Sisley, but the team didn't
lose the concentration and accumulated the points. Sisley won the first
set in 25-14. However, Sisley started to lose their concentration from the
beginning of the second set. On the contrary the opponent team started to
get the tempo and led the points over Sisley. Yet, the tempo moved to
Sisley when Lollo Bernardi hit the serve. Sisley won the second set in
25-19.
In the third set Marcos didn't play. Veteran players were only Formin and
Gravina and the rest were younger players. The game was neck in neck, but
Sisley of course won the third set in 26-24. The game was over.
After the game Marcos was interviewed by some journalist. I wonder why.
